At Bristol Myers Squibb, our Early Career work is grounded in strong partnerships and meaningful experiences that prepare the next generation of talent to make an impact. Two recent events—one recognizing our collaboration and another focused on industry engagement—highlight how we continue to bring this commitment to life.

Early Career Recognized for Impact: NJIT Recruitment Partner Awards

On May 1, 2026, our Early Career team was honored at the NJIT Career Development Services Recruitment Partner Awards, recognizing employer and campus partners whose collaboration drives exceptional outcomes for students and graduates.

This recognition reflects the strength of our growing partnership with NJIT and a shared commitment to expanding access to early career opportunities. As Dante Maiden, Executive Director, Global Talent Acquisition & Talent Management, reflects:

“I’m always humbled to engage with peers inside and outside of BMS—where a shared commitment to patients and the pursuit of cure and care consistently stands out. As a Talent Acquisition leader, I view it as our responsibility to illuminate career possibilities for university talent, bridging the gap between academic experience and meaningful entry into pharma.”

Over the past five years, 11 NJIT students have joined our Undergraduate Programs, contributing strong technical skills, fresh perspectives, and a passion for learning. In return, they have gained hands-on experience that supports their long-term development and career readiness.

As Erin Salgado, Director, IT Strategy & Operations, shared:

“Bristol Myers Squibb is proud to be recognized by NJIT as a Top Employer for Full-Time Opportunities. Our work with NJIT reflects a shared commitment to developing future talent and creating pathways for the next generation of leaders. NJIT students and graduates continue to bring strong capabilities, fresh perspectives, and meaningful impact to our organization. We value this collaboration and look forward to supporting the next generation of talent in the years ahead.”

We are grateful to NJIT Career Development Services for their continued partnership and shared commitment to developing future talent.

From Lab to Market: Engaging Students at TCNJ

On April 22, 2026, Bristol Myers Squibb participated in “From Lab to Market: A Panel Discussion on Careers in the Pharmaceutical Industry at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).

We were honored that Dante Maiden represented BMS on a panel of industry leaders. The discussion gave students a practical view into the pharmaceutical industry—exploring career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and how cross-functional teams work together to deliver medicines to patients.

Topics included:

  • Career journeys and non-linear paths
  • How the pharmaceutical industry shapes decision-making and impact
  • Skills that set early talent up for success
  • Reflections on college experiences and career preparation
  • Advice for students pursuing careers in the field

Building on these themes, Dante emphasized the importance of guiding early talent with intention:

“Getting this right is critical—our expert guidance will shape the experiences of emerging talent, strengthen our company, and ultimately impact our patients, the future of our company, and ultimately world health. These are big bets.”

Through conversations like these, we help students connect their academic experiences to real-world careers—building awareness, confidence, and clarity as they prepare for the future.

Advancing Our Early Career Mission

  • Real-world engagement that brings careers to life for students
  • Intentional development that prepares future talent to make an impact

As Sarah Axelrod, Associate Director, US Early Career Lead, shared:

“We remain deeply committed to building strong connections and expanding opportunities for early talent. By investing in meaningful partnerships, real-world experiences, and intentional development, we are helping to shape the next generation of talent—ensuring they are equipped to make an impact and ready to define what’s next.”

Together, we’re strengthening our talent pipeline to help deliver on our mission— to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.
